The construction of an underground water reservoir at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, previously named Franklin Street Park. After this was completed in 1938, 14 tennis courts were installed on the leveled area above it.
This photograph is of the swimming pool at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. The pool was originally constructed in 1918 when the park was referred to as the Franklin Street Park.
